I talked to several transmission shops and they all said that a shudder was not uncommon. Quick and FREE! It would clunk or shudder after a few feet after take off. It does not do it when the vehicle is cold. Dealer says its a pinion angle issue but cant't fix it. Mine occurred from a dead stop, during the first 4-5 feet of travel, and it pulsed/ shuddered 3-4 times, from every stop. I got some high quality marine grease and got it lubed up in like 30 min. You may also hear sounds while the car is shuddering from the worn-out U-joint. A shudder upon acceleration sounds more like a transmission issue. I've gone through two clutches, the first after about 100 000km (63 000 miles) and the second after 115 000km as a result of oil contamination (my rear engine oil seal was leaking). They have replaced the drive shaft and the vibration dampner and installed 2 then 3 degree shims. Maybe the torque converter not engaging properly or first gear not meshing correctly in the tranny. 2009 - 2014 Ford F150 - FINALLY solved my take-off shudder or pulse! It happens no matter if there is a load or not. Diagnosis: Vehicles equipped with a two piece driveshaft are designed to minimize reaction forces which It feels like the rear tires are on a rumble strip when you take off, just a slight jiggle/shudder from the Rear end. A loose U-joint or bad center bearing within the driveshaft may cause the faltering acceleration. i did notice that the carrier (thats the piece that connects the 2 piece driveshaft correct?) The carrier might need to be shimmed or something? It shifts through gears just fine just shudders hard on takeoff. Its always in 2wd, so no 4A, 4h 4L stuff. I recently put one inch blocks in the back of my truck and sure enough I got the 0-10 mph take off shudder. Just chock the wheels, mark the two shafts so you can line them up correctly again and take them apart and smear some lube on the splines. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a 2007 GMC 2500HD Crew cab long bed with the Duramax/Allison. Mine is shuddering every time you start out from a stop and aren't hammering it. Shudder 2008 328xi I had read this and several other threads. I believe it is transmission related. was a little loose, but isn't a little of play normal? The condition is most noticeable under heavy throttle acceleration and is usually only present a low speeds (below 25 m.p.h.). I downloaded and read the rather spartan TSB which described my shudder issue exactly (between 1200-2500 RPM while on the gas). I havn't lifted my truck recently, so the driveline angles are the same. I believe the driveshaft issue is related to the 20-30 mph vibration and not a shudder upon acceleration. - To clarify, my shudder is not the 55 mph wobble, nor the low speed 15-20 mph shudder. Forgive me if i am wrong but surely your rear drive shaft would only cause noticeable vibrations / shuddering when driving at speed, not really at take off. It is almost the same as on my 2010 except it seems to start and stop little later in that speed range. Has anyone else felt a shudder in the driveline when accelerating from a stop gently? A vehicle may exhibit a drive line shudder or vibrations while accelerating from a stop. When the Jeep is warmed up it has a very hard shudder only on takeoff, it also feels like something is holding it back, like Im dragging something heavy. You mention you hear the noise when turning left or right. If you have the driveline vibration issue, you already know this vibration occurs at slow speeds and it almost feels like the truck is shuddering. Experiencing a significant shudder when accelerating from low speed or a stopped position, it can be another sign of failing driveshaft components. I have a breif shutter (vibration) when taking off from a dead stop. Shudder on takeoff.
